Our Foundation Virtue is Humility. All builds on this.
Can you humble yourself and say you need Jesus? Can you include Him in all aspects of your life? Are you willing to look at yourself and accept who you are and what you've become? We should never fall into the trap like the Pharisee where he judged his virtues against the tax collector's vices. He went away empty without God's graces. We are all fallible and must be very careful of this pitfall. Yet the tax collector who acknowledge only himself and his weakness to sin left with God's graces. It's a simple fact that you stop looking around and comparing yourself to others. The foundation of Virtues is Humility. Jesus alone said this, Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light. Jesus is the foundation and we need to seek Him the same way He came to us. Philippians 2: 6-8 Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, talking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Blessed Humility, some times feels like humiliation but it is all good it keeps us in this state of need of God. What a wonderful place to be at the feet of the throne of our Lord. |
